Christmas/New Years

Christmas and New Years was wonderful. We got to spend time with the Faldmo’s before their big move back to Dallas, TX. We also went to Bryce and Elisha’s wedding just a couple days after Christmas. They were both just so excited and glowing. New Years was extra special because the Olsen’s and the Faldmo’s snowmobiled, ate a yummy dinner, and played games to bring in the New Year. We thought Christmas was great before…it’s even better now that we get to have two families to enjoy the holidays with!! Enjoy the slide show!

Madison Square Garden

Adam and Jess along with Mike and April gave us tickets to see the Mavericks play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden for Christmas. Before the game Nathan got to take a picture with Mark Cuban. There were a ton of Maverick fans at the game and sitting in the lower section was GREAT!!! Mavericks Won!!!

Surprise!!!

Nathan threw me a surprise 22nd birthday party. I don’t know how he managed to get a hold of all those people and make so many preparations without me having even the slightest clue. He told me we were going to some kind of show but he wanted to blind fold me. So we walked out to get in the car, then Nathan changed his mind and we started to run to the subway (b/c we were a little late) when he realized he forgot the tickets. So, we ran back home and as I ran in to grab the envelope that said “tickets” off the coffee table, everyone shouted “SURPRISE!!!” Everyone brought lots of snacks and we played some of my favorite games and had a great time! The greatest thing was trying to count up the many states people were from…Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Alabama, Virginia, Washington, California, Idaho, Utah, Vermont, South Dakota, Hawaii, New York, Connecticut, Ohio, …and South Africa! Oh, and how could I forget, my 3 favorite babies came too!

Mom and Alex Visit NY

New York was so much fun and Nathan was a great tour guide. We went somewhere everyday until we thought our legs would fall off. We went to the statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Ground Zero, the temple, central park, China town, Little Italy, but best of all--two Broadway shows. We won front row tickets to Wicked and it was totally wicked! I cried for about an hour on the plane when I left Nicki in New York, but it was great to have her home at Christmas time.

Nicki Starts PA School

Just a couple days after moving to New York, I started PA school. I'm usually studying from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. Luckily Nathan is a good sport and lets me practice on him. Most of my physical exam skills are too hard to practice on him because he is so ticklish. Even though he has no experience in the medical field, he sure is good at finding ways to quiz me on the things I've learned. I haven't decided what field I want to go into because everything sounds so interesting. For now I like the idea of family practice so I can see a variety of patients! When I got my lab coat and ophthalmoscope set Nathan took this funny picture. I'm not sure why my patient was standing and I was sitting or how I saw anything in his eye from that far away but it was fun to pretend I knew what I was doing :)

The Big Move!

We started off our married life with an amazing adventure. About 2,897 miles later we ended up in Bronx, NY. We were super excited to find an affordable (kinda) 1 bedroom apartment in a cute little neighborhood. We were lucky to discover the wonders of craigslist with FREE furniture when we moved in. Besides our bed and a bookshelf, we've gotten everything we needed to furnish our apartment from the oh so kind people of New York. Other than our fun neighbors that live right below us, we live in a building with a bunch of cute little old people. They love to tell us stories and check on us. Our neighbor Nicki still thinks Nathan's name is Nat...we've tried to correct him but he can't seem to remember so we just let it fly.
